Dry type transformers differ from oil-immersed transformers primarily in their cooling method. The high-voltage windings are vacuum cast with epoxy resin, while the low-voltage windings are manufactured using either cast resin or resin-impregnated prepreg technology, ensuring high reliability in various environmental conditions.
Cooling methods include natural air cooling (AN) and forced air cooling (AF). With fan-assisted cooling, the transformer can achieve up to 40% increased load capacity.
